The streets are open again and traffic is moving smoothly.

Roof damage in the Downtown Fine Furniture store in Harrisonburg caused Court Square to be blocked off and police officers to rerout traffic. Harrisonburg Police said their biggest concern was keeping people safe and away from the building.

Friday afternoon's storm blew off a rubber sheet from the building that then fell down the side of it. The rain did get inside the building and there may be some damage. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

David Lee, the building's owner, said he was glad there is only minor damage.

“You don't want it to be more because then that could potentially mean that somebody could be hurt by it,” said Lee. “We're very thankful that that's all it was. We'll get it fixed probably this weekend.”
