Luray Man Faces Multiple Grand Larceny Charges

PAGE COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) -- Jeremy S. Cubbage was arrested and charged with three felony counts of grand larceny on Dec. 20.

Cubbage, 33, of Luray is the owner and operator of Deer Run Landscaping.

His charges stemmed from the theft of farm and construction equipment.

Cubbage was also charged with three felony counts of obtaining money by false pretenses for the sale of stolen equipment.

At the time of his arrest, a search warrant was executed at Cubbage's home.

While executing the warrant, equipment ranging from skid steer loaders, a mini-excavator, zero turn mowers, and more were recovered.

Also seized were pickup trucks, large trucks, trailers, and other equipment purchased from the proceeds of Cubbage’s criminal enterprise.

Additional items of farm equipment, industrial grade zero turn mowers, and other power equipment has been identified as being stolen and sold by Cubbage.

The total value of the stolen equipment is estimated at over $200,000.

The stolen tractors, zero turn mowers, and other equipment have been recovered locally, as well as outside of Page County and Virginia.

Cubbage was charged with four more counts of grand larceny in regards with the theft of more farm and construction equipment on Dec. 23.

On Dec. 27, Cubbage received additional felony charges of obtaining money by false pretenses, grand larceny, and possession of stolen property for the theft of hand tools, and other equipment.

Cubbage will be arraigned on Dec. 30.

Anyone who has had equipment stolen that has not reported the theft to the sheriff’s office should do so as soon as possible.

Additionally, anyone who has purchased equipment of any kind from Cubbage should contact the Page County Sheriff’s Office.
