HARRISONBURG, Va -- Tuesday was National Voter Registration day. Volunteers from more than a 1,000 organizations went into their communities to register voters.
The Department of Motor Vehicles was one of those participating organizations. On Tuesday, the mobile van was parked on James Madison University's campus to give students an easy way to register.
Casey Wojciechowski is a senior and he signed up to vote for the first time on Tuesday. He said young people are not as interested in this election because they do not know enough about the issues, but this year, he is starting to change his mind.
"I just feel like my vote makes an impact, and I really started to notice it as I got older. I'm about to go into the work force this upcoming year, so it's going to affect me even more," said Wojciechowski.
DMV staff said they had a steady flow of students using the mobile van as a resource to register. It is not too late to register. The deadline for registration is Oct 15th.
