HARRISONBURG, Va -- Rosa Vazquez' kids spend most of the day at Smiley Day Care.
"I bring them at 5:30 and I come back to get them at four," said Vazquez.
Smiley closed its doors early on Monday night and Vazquez said she feels better having her children by her side during the storm.
“It's actually good. I need to know that they're home and that they're safe.”
She said she has to make sure they are safe on Tuesday because Smiley is closed all day.
"I was surprised. Kinda nervous because I don't know where else to take them."
Aneta Smialek, Smiley Day Care owner, said they want to make sure parents are not at risk when picking up their kids. She said last snow storm some parents got in a crash because of bad weather.
"We need to close because of the parents' safety to making sure they get their children on time before the bad weather really hits and for them to make it home safe too," said Smialek.
Kaitlyn Atkinson also brings her kids to Smileys and she said she was thankful her work is closed tomorrow.
"I wouldn't have another option if they weren't open, but since I don't work, I don't have to go anywhere."
Vazquez, who is working on Tuesday, said her only option for childcare right now is her mom.
Smialek does not know if they will be open on Wednesday because it all depends on the weather.
