Deadline Monday for Va. Voter Registrations

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- A deadline is looming for Virginians planning to vote in the Nov. 6 election.

The State Board of Elections says Monday is the deadline for residents to register to vote and to make any changes in their voter registration record.

Voter registration applications must be postmarked no later than 5 p.m. Applications are available at the local registrar's office, DMV offices or by downloading an application on the Board of Elections' website.

As for absentee ballots, they must be mailed or faxed to the general registrar's office no later than Oct. 30.
