Deputies Investigating Basye Break-in

SHENANDOAH COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) -- Shenandoah County sheriff's deputies say a man broke into a Basye store late Wednesday night.

Major Scott Proctor said a witness told deputies a man broke into the front door of the Community Store, located at 1502 Orkney Grade, with a baseball bat.

When deputies arrived, about 11 p.m., they found the store had been broken into. Proctor said the offender only got away with some change.

Proctor said the man was described as slender with dark hair. He was wearing camo-colored clothing at the time of the offense. Deputies say he fled in a light-colored minivan.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the sheriff's office at 540-459-6100.
