UPDATE: The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the suspect they say led them on a high speed chase throughout the eastern part of the county Thursday afternoon.
Forty-three year old Cecil Ire Shifflett Jr, of Elkton is now facing a number of different charges including Driving Without a License, Endangers Monument, Intentional Damage and Drug Possession. They say that additional charges will be filed.
ROCKINGHAM COUNTY -- A suspect is accused of leading deputies and state troopers on a chase through eastern Rockingham County on Thursday evening.
Rockingham County Sheriff Bryan Hutcheson told whsv.com that deputies tried to serve a warrant on a driver in McGaheysville. Hutcheson said the person took off and led deputies on a chase along U.S. Route 33 toward Elkton and on several roads near Elkton.
The chase ended just before 6 p.m. on Naked Creek Road north of Elkton.
