STAUNTON, VA -- Mary Baldwin College along with the Staunton chapter of the NAACP honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a candlelit march in downtown Staunton. The march was followed by a service at at Central United Methodist Church.
Dr. Edward Scott, a professor at Mary Baldwin College who served as the emcee this evening thought today was particularly special. He says, "The members of the community who come ordinarily come every single year. There are some who have not missed this event for twenty-two years. So we are really excited about what's going on tonight. Tonight particularly resonates historically because of the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States today."
