Driver Hits Pedestrian and Building

Staunton Police Department said after 8 p.m. on Sunday, a woman lost control of her car on King Drive and hit a pedestrian and a dorm's entrance at Mary Baldwin College.

He said he doesn't believe any alcohol is involved in the incident.

The woman hit was sent to the hospital with minor injuries

The glass door entrance shattered and also the front end of the car.

But there is no structural damage.

Right now the door remains off limits for students living in this dorm.

School leaders from the college didn't have a comment or let News 3 interview witnesses at the scene.

The charges on the driver are still pending.
