Early Morning Fire Destroys Vacant House

STAUNTON, Va.--- An early morning fire totaled a vacant house on Thursday. The fire happened on Lake Ave., according to the Staunton Fire Dept.

Two nearby homes were damaged in the fire. The people living there were not hurt. Their homes were only damaged on the outside, according to a fire fighter.

Fire fighters got the call to the scene at around 2:45 a.m. and remained on the scene until about 6:30 a.m.

Fire fighters are working to determine a cause, but don't suspect anything suspicious so far. The house sustained heavy damage in the front. It's not clear how long the house was vacant.
