Elementary Schools Holds Career Day

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- Keister Elementary School held a career how-to day for its third-grade students Friday afternoon for them get an inside look at how some jobs work.

Each presenter showed the kids how to do something within their field.

WHSV photojournalist Ryan Tice was one of the presenters.

He showed the kids how to use the news camera and talked about the different people he has interviewed.

One of the kids favorite things was when they were filmed and put on TV.

Ryan sat down with Toby Corriston, one of the third graders, to find out what he learned.

"You can take the camera on and off the stand and you have a little satellite that you can stream live," said Corriston.

The kids also learned a lot about other careers.

A pet shop, plumber, and coffee shop were some of the other businesses at Keister.
