Error Allows Inmate to Leave Jail Early

The search continued Thursday for a local inmate who was mistakenly released from jail Tuesday.

Officials with the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center are looking into what led to Allen Nathaniel Walker being allowed to walk free.

They said it was an employee error in calculating his sentence time. Officials said something like this is rare.

Walker was sentenced on Tuesday to more than five years in jail for drug related charges. He is from Millwood. A warrant for his arrest was issued yesterday.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call crime solvers at 540-665-TIPS.
