AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) -- Augusta Health is celebrating "Healthy Connections," an event where the community can come find resources for a healthy lifestyle Thursday night.
This year, there will be a new table available, providing information about health care exchanges.
Director of Outpatient and Psychiatric Services for the Valley Community Services Board, Jennifer Johnson said now that a lot of the technical difficulties have been taken care of, she expects enrollment numbers in Virginia will dramatically increase.
Therefore, she said Thursday's event will be a debut for people throughout the community to to get the information they need and get questions answered.
"The slow roll-out success rate of the health insurance marketplace will really is going to be a debut for us to give people information and answer their questions and direct them to our agency so we can help them apply for health insurance in the market place," said Johnson.
The event will also offer free health screenings for adults, flu shots, children's activities and a nutritious soup supper.
The event takes place at the Waynesboro Boys and Girls Club Thursday night from 5:30 to 7:30.
