HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- Many people across the Valley came together to cheer on the U.S. in the World Cup on Thursday afternoon.
The team lost 1-0 to Germany, but still advanced to the knockout rounds.
The Bowl of Good in Harrisonburg was so crowded that exceeded capacity for their restaurant. Crowds dressed up in soccer jerseys, wearing red white and blue, and cheering as loud as possible for their team.
The restaurant's owner said the game had a big economic impact on their restaurant.
"U.S. losing, we are sad because our country lost. That being said, we are a globally inspired restaurant, international people love this place and so for us, it just gives people the opportunity to gather for the other games," said Katrina Didot, the owner of Bowl of Good.
Of course the game going on at noon, some people watching the game took off work, while others stopped by during their lunch break not wanting to miss any of the action.
