Update: Roadcap Farm Near Weyers Cave Catches on Fire

AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV)-- 703 Burketown Road in Weyers Cave, also known as The Roadcap Farm, had a wheat field that caught on fire when a power line came down.

Thankfully, no one was injured, but neighbors did lose power.

The Weyers Cave Volunteer Fire Department was on scene and had the fire under control quickly.

"Everything was covered with smoke and cracking and carrying on.
The wheat was really burning fast, I am glad the fire company got here when it did," said Doris Roadcap, the property owner.

The fire ended up burning four or five acres causing $900 to $1,000 in crop damages.
