HARRISONBURG, Va. -- People with the Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance are kicking off a new downtown film series.
Flashback night, which will be on Friday night, will be a chance to see films from the Super Gr8 Film Festival.
People will also have the opportunity to share their stories from around the 1960s.
Anyone in the community can sign up ahead of time to come forward to share short five minute stories from their past.
They will be focusing on the 1960s and 1970s because they want to highlight the Super Eight film format.
That film format was a popular home movie film format during that time.
The films, which they are still deciding on, will be family friendly selections.
The event will be from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Turner Pavilion.
So we're learning and growing with the community as we present this event....to make [it] even better in the future," said Nicole Martorana, Promotions Manager with Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance.
They are still looking for people to share their stories.
You can contact the Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance to get involved with the oratories by going to their website.
This will be one of three events in the film series and is part of a partnership with Fridays on the Square and First Fridays.
The next night in the film series is planned for September.
