First Night organizers are working until the last minute to get everything prepared for New Year's Event.

The stages and nearly 100 volunteers are set up for New Year's Eve.

President Stephanie Hutchinson said they're expecting more than 3,000 people at the event.

They have sold just about 500 admission buttons so far.

She said this is normal so don't let that number worry you.

Hutchinson said many people wait to buy them last minute.

But she said they know people will come.

"If we don't get the people we need here, it will hurt our money a little bit. We're very fortunate to have a very caring community and they've come out to sponsor us with this night," Hutchinson said.

Jessika Lucas is planning to go to the event for the first time.

"I'm kinda new to Harrisonburg so I like anything that going on downtown that is a community based thing," she said.

You have until 12 p.m. on Monday to get the buttons at pre-sale locations.

The buttons will go on sale at 3 p.m. in Court Square.
