Food Pantry Holds Giant Yard Sale

Weyers Cave, VA -- Crowds of people are busting out their wallets and pocket books to raise money for the Verona Community Food Pantry.

The food pantry held its eighth Giant Yard Sale at the Weyers Cave Community Center today.

Around 600 people lined up Saturday morning waiting for the doors to open so they can buy goods from the food pantry.

The pantry sold all sorts of items from food and water to makeup and home accessories which were all donated from local businesses.

"Buying stuff online, selling stuff, that's how I make my living, buying and selling online and the stuff that i get here not only helps them financially but it also helps me because I'm buying things to resale," said attendee Michael Markuson.

The pantry hopes to raise up to $30,000 from the yard sale which will go towards the upkeep of the place.
