Friend Reflects on Life of Waynesboro Murder Victim

WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) -- Bobby Shipe worked with Jeff Earhart, 38, at Staunton Lanes years ago and frequently saw Earhart bowling.

He said he saw Earhart bowling Wednesday night, just like any other night; however, the next day Earhart was killed.

Shipe said its shocking news because of how nice Earhart was.

Shipe also said above all else, Earhart never met a stranger.

He went on to say that Earhart he was a great bowler, outgoing and very nice, which made Thursday's news even more tragic.

"Somebody that young just to be taken out, for no reason at all, that was hard to deal with. Jeff never knew a stranger, he was friends with everybody and just to be shot like that, for no apparent reason, it's hard to deal with," said Shipe.

Boyd William Wiseman faces charges for second-degree murder and using a gun in the crime.

He faces up to 43 years in prison, according to police.
