FRONT ROYAL, Va. (WHSV) -- The Afton Inn in Front Royal could soon have new owners.
If you're unfamiliar with Front Royal, the map below shows the inn's location.
The Afton Inn is the building up for discussion and the town's manager said it's not the best look for the downtown area.
The goal is to transfer the title of this building from the current owners to an economic development authority.
The group could then sell or lease the building to another company to help bring new business downtown.
It's an idea that the town manager, Steve Burke, stands behind.
"It would provide the town a sign of the commitment of the town to further commercial development in our community and would let the businesses both currently in our community as well as those that are looking to locate in our community that the town is committed towards bettering the commercial environment here," Burke shared.
The public hearing about the property transfer kicks off Monday at 7 p.m. at the Warren County Government Center's board meeting room.
