CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va -- Hundreds paid tribute to fallen police Captain Kevin Quick in a public memorial at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville.
Quick went missing in late January, and his body was found weeks later in Goochland County. So far, six people have been arrested in connection with his disappearance.
Those attending to pay tribute included Waynesboro police, the city fire department, family and friends of the Quick family. Ashlyn Soulsby, the wife of the man who started the Quick reward fund, said the funeral was very emotional.
"The most touching thing was last call, and it still makes me tear up right now to think about it. That's his last duty call; that was absolutely ... oh my gosh, it was very, very intense for everyone," Soulsby said.
A private burial was held for Quick's body shortly after the service.
