HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- Lower gas prices have an impact on your wallet as well as budgets for organizations in the Valley.
At some stations, the prices are now below three dollars a gallon.
For Meals on Wheels, the lower gas prices mean less money in the tank and less money coming out of volunteer's pockets.
We checked in to see how the extra money in their budget is helping their programs serve those in the Valley.
"If we we are paying less money for gas, that provides money to go into the actual food and for the meals on wheels and all the services VPAS provides," said Beth Bland with the Valley Program for Aging Services.
VPAS also provides free transportation to senior citizens, another service benefiting from the lower gas prices.
