Gas prices are forecast to go down by as much as 20 cents by the holiday season according to AAA Mid-Atlantic.
This is a welcome change for many who travel to be with their family during the holidays. The question of driving versus flying is a frequent consideration for many college students.
With lower fuel costs, driving may once again be a popular option. However, where to fill up is also a concern some take in account when going to other states.
"The gas prices here might be $3, but in Maine the gas prices are probably $3.60 or $4, so you have to like, ok, in this state what is it, in this state what is it, in this state what is it," said Chelsea Parent, a Bridgewater College student with family in Southern Maine.
The national average is $3.35 and could go down to $3.10. Here in the Valley, some of those gas prices are closer to the $3 mark.
