STAUNTON, Va. -- A mobile home fire in Churchville claimed the lives of four family members and the lone survivor returned the next day to feed his animals.
A WHSV reporter was there when he said that he didn't know what he was going to do with more than 50 rabbits left behind. He considered letting them go, but some good neighbors at Valley Feed have taken it upon themselves to make sure those rabbits find a new home.
“He had been a customer of ours for a year. He'd come in every week. We just wanted to help him out since he was generous enough to buy his feed from us for a year we felt the need to help him out too,” said Susan Lambert, who's trying to find homes for the rabbits.
The plan is to give the rabbits away and hopefully get donations to give to the family.
