GROTTOES -- Nearly 24 hours after the snow first started falling, neighbors were still dealing with its aftermath.

Brothers-in-law Ilya and Danial Shapovalov woke up to more than a foot of snow on Wednesday.

“It snowed in so much that he couldn't go to work,” said Ilya Shapovalov.

They grabbed a shovel to help clear snow from a neighbor's driveway.

“It was a lot of snow. I find it fun, and it's not too hard, so, it's better than being bored inside,” said Danial Shapovalov.

Neither Ilya nor Danial thought they'd see this much snow.

“We really weren't expecting this, and I know a lot of people when they heard we were supposed to get 12 or more inches of snow said, that's not going to happen, because that doesn't happen around here,” said Ilya Shapovalov.

Several downed branches in their neighborhood meant more cleaning up. Ilya said he needed to get branches cleared, so the two could help other neighbors.

“It was really surprising how much snow we got, because no one really expected this much snow,” said Danial Shapovalov.
