Harrisonburg -- With the government shutdown lots of different agencies will be impacted including The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. WHSV looked into if this would impact firearm sales and concealed handgun permits in Virginia.
Harrisonburg-Rockingham County Clerk of the Circuit Court Chaz Evans-Haywood tells WHSV concealed handgun permits in Virginia will not be impacted by a government shutdown. This is because everything is regulated on a state level.
We also reached out to the ATF and they told us sales of firearms as well as ammunition will not be impacted by a government shutdown.
