HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- Eastern Mennonite University will soon make a decision about its hiring policy regarding homosexuals. Currently people in same-sex relationships can't be hired. As part of a six-month review the school welcomed feedback through an online survey.

The Valley Family Forum is sending a petition to the board of trustees Wednesday to uphold the current policy.

"And we're praying that the Lord would lead them to stand firm and to uphold their own motto, which is 'God's Word is Truth,'" said Chaplain John Sloop, of the Valley Family Forum.

Advocates for a policy change say that it would make the campus more inclusive. meanwhile, the Valley Family Forum is expecting more than 300 signatures.

The board of trustees will meet on June 20 and 21 to make a final decision.
