Habitat for Humanity Partners with USDA at Home Dedication

STAUNTON, Va. - June is National Home Ownership Month and Habitat for Humanity celebrated this by partnering with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Habitat for Humanity signed a partnership with the USDA at one of their home dedications earlier today.

As part of the partnership, the USDA will assist with mortgage financing to families once a home is completed.

A house was also dedicated to a family of two in Staunton. The family says they are grateful to receive so much help from the community.

"Where I live at now, I live paycheck to paycheck struggling to make ends meet, and make sure there's food on the table for my son and not only myself. Now I can focus on a better life for my son," says Amber Shepherd.

The Shepherd family is the 67th Habitat partner that has been helped through the Habitat home building and repair program.
