Harrington's Mother to Speak at Vigil for Sexual Assault Victims

The mother of slain Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington will speak at a vigil in Charlottesville honoring victims of sexual violence.

The Daily Progress reports that Gil Harrington will talk about societal violence and her 20-year-old daughter's disappearance and death at the event.

The annual Take Back the Night vigil is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday at Washington Park.

Morgan Harrington disappeared in October 2009 after leaving a concert at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Her remains were found in January 2010 in a hayfield in Albemarle County. No arrests have been made.
