HARRISONBURG -- Harrisonburg City Council on Tuesday night approved a budget for the coming year without a real estate tax increase.

The budget previously proposed would have raised the real estate tax by 4 cents.

The city cut the amount of money needed in the spending plan to $372,151 from $600,000 and will use money from its unappropriated fund to make up the difference.
