Harrisonburg City Council Weighing False Alarms Ordinance

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- The Harrisonburg City Council continues to look into an ordinance aimed at cutting down on the number of false alarms.

Council right now is weighing the pros and cons of the plan, to amend it so businesses would not have to pay for a possible new alarm monitoring system.

The Harrisonburg Police Department says 99% of of alarm calls they respond to are false alarms.
