HARRISONBURG, Va. -- The addition of vestibules to Harrisonburg City Public Schools is making parents and students feel safer.
All Harrisonburg City Public schools are now equipped with vestibules that allow office staff to keep track of who enters and leaves the school. Exterior cameras have also been added to entrances.
"I think we've had a lot of good comments from parents and kids that now the kids and the parents in the mornings go right through the office, if they are dropping off. So I think it makes a safer building," said Craig Mackail, the Executive Director of School Safety with Harrisonburg City Public Schools.
The project cost Harrisonburg City Public Schools more than $200,000.
