Harrisonburg K-9 Units Awarded

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- Two Harrisonburg Police Department K-9 units received Case of the Year awards from the Virginia Police Canine Association.

One of the teams was Officer Tim Wright and his K-9 partner Rocko, who were commended for tracking down a suspect in a BB&T Bank robbery.

"You put a lot of pressure on yourself because you feel like you have this special tool so you need to produce results for different things. The pros are you have an immediate partner there with you all the time. The things that he does on a daily basis just amazes you," said Wright.

Officer Chris Ray and his partner, Spartan, were also awarded Case of the Year for working on a convenience store robbery.
