Harrisonburg Police Investigate Church Breaking and Entering

HARRISONBURG, Va.--- Harrisonburg police are currently investigating a breaking and entering at the Victory Baptist Church.

According to the pastor, it happened between Saturday night and Sunday morning. Someone smashed one of the window, stealing an unknown amount of money and letter opener.

HPD estimates the damage of the window to be nearly $400. An officer said the first church in this area it was broken into.

Neighbor Latekah Marcell said she is surprised it happened close to home.

" It actually does make me feel less safe because we live so close to the church so it is scary to know about it. But I think it's a good thing, we do know what happened so we can be aware," said Marcell.

If caught, the suspect could face charges for breaking and entering, larceny and property damage. If you have any information, contact police at 540-434-4436
