According to a release from the Harrisonburg Police Department, a man was arrested a man after a car crash Thursday night.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m., police responded to a crash on Broad Street.
Police say 39-year-old Enrique Baltazar-Corona of Harrisonburg was driving north on Broad Street, when he struck a parked car, which causing his vehicle to flip on the passenger side.
They say his two-year-old son was not properly restrained in the back seat.
The child was taken to Rockingham Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center as a precaution.
According to the police, Baltazar-Corona was charged with driving while intoxicated (misdemeanor) and abuse/neglect of a child (felony).
Parents and guardians of children should always ensure the child is properly restrained, while riding in a motor vehicle.
