AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va –- Twisted Creationz Haunted Forest suggests a $10 donation when you come and part of that money goes toward the Relay for Life to help fight cancer.
This year is its twelfth year building a haunted forest on a farm. Leaders of the haunted forest have donated to Relay for Life for the past eight years. They raised more than $20,000 last year for cancer.
Thousands of people visit the forest every fall for a scare. Scott Balsley, the haunted forest's coordinator, spends hours of his free time setting it up. He said he hopes people will help fight cancer by visiting.
“We just feel like it's a good cause,” said Balsley. “There's a lot of people out there who need help who are surviving cancer. Also, it's just something, we enjoy being creative and we love building things, and I think it's kind of escalated and snowballed.”
It takes about 50 volunteers every night to run the haunted forest.
They'll be open every Friday and Saturday through the beginning of November. You can find out more about the haunted forest here: Twisted Creationz
