Who to Contact for Help
HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- The new health care website is now up and running, but there are some delays and glitches.
One group in the community is working to make it easier for you to sign up.
In our area there are four places you can get help, but the glitches not only affect those shopping, but also those helping them.
When logging onto healthcare.gov, you may have seen this message, " We have a lot of visitors to our site and we are working to make your experience here better."
Andy Bolt who is a nagivator with Enroll Virginia noticed the problem. He helps small businesses and others who need assistance with signing up.
"It took me a couple tries to get on it. The thing people need to know is that if they are having trouble, they just need to keep trying," said Bolt.
RMH Healthcare Revenue Cycle Director Perry Crowder is also certified to answer any questions from patients and members of the community, but the glitches are making it hard for him to know all the specifics.
So far he knows in our area there are three health insurance companies available and nearly 28 plans.
"Unfortunately the federal website has had technical difficulties all day and we have been unable to get the exact deals of those plans," said Crowder.
He said it's expected because it's just day one.
"Anytime you start someone of this magnitude and this technical difficulty. It's not uncommon to have difficulties," said Crowder.
He said it has also been quiet for him and he has not helped anyone yet, but for Bolt.
"A lot of questions about where do they need to go, what information do they need to have and what they need to expect as far as the process," said Bolt.
He's received more than seven calls on opening day.
"It's been pretty busy you know. A lot of people calling in just where they go and what the process is," said Bolt.
The group is trying to create a community partnership to help you better.
