Health Fair to Bring Awareness to Heart Health Month

Augusta Health celebrated National Heart Month Wednesday with a health fair called, “Your Numbers.”

More than 300 community members gathered to participate in the interactive event.

The fair featured many screenings for participants including blood pressures, body-mass-index, glucose, cholesterol and other assessments.

One attendee said she takes back her numbers to better inform her children.

"Usually, they want to know what I've done in the day or in the week, and we go, my husband and I, go over our health issues with them, so they would be up to date on our stuff," said Esther Danraj.

Event coordinators said they only heard positive remarks about the event, and this positivity is encouragement to take care of heart health risks.
