AUGUSTA COUNTY -- On Sunday evening, law enforcement said charges were pending for a suspect involved in two hit and run incidents earlier in the day.
Around 6:30 pm, officers with the Augusta County Sheriff's Office say there was a hit and run near Interstate 81.
Virginia State Police put out a lookout for the person after they drove away from the crash scene.
Around two hours later, another hit and run was reported on Route 11 involving the same car.
According to reports, people at the scene tried to block the car from getting away.
When deputies got to site of the crash, they tried to stop the suspect.
However, the man got back in his car and a chase ensued.
Deputies say they chased the car down the road and eventually the suspect ran off the road.
Afterwards, the suspect was taken to Augusta Health with minor injuries.
Three other people involved in the crash were taken to the hospital as well with minor injuries.
The Augusta County Sheriff's Office says alcohol was a contributing factor.
