HARRISONBURG -- Something else to think about before you hit the road for the 4th of July, gas prices. Lucky for us, Virginia is the cheapest.

The latest state average in Virginia is 3.34 a gallon for regular. That's good for your wallet if you're staying in the state and going to the beach.

Gas in Virginia Beach is about three cents cheaper than gas near beaches in North Carolina.

If you're heading to DC, you'll pay more. That's because of supply and demand, and the cost of living.

Wednesday's average gas price in Virginia is the third highest price on record for the holiday. Average state prices are up 20 cents from last year.
