Horowitz Case Continued Until August

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- Former Cpl. Bryan Horowitz will now answer to a DUI charge he received back in early May in August. He was expected to be in court on Monday, but the case was continued.

The former Harrisonburg police officer was not present and his lawyer also was not in the courtroom. Horowitz's court appearance has been set for August 8.

The special prosecutor for this case will be Bob Downs, the assistant commonwealth's attorney in Page County.

In May, Horowitz was pulled over after officers say he was driving more than 15 miles per hour over the speed limit in Broadway. The officer who responded saw Horowitz trying to switch places with another passenger in the car according to a police report. It also stated that when the officer walked up the car, he could see an open beer bottle in one of the cup holders.
