Shenandoah County Shenandoah County Fire and Rescue responded to a house fire in Edinburg on Tuesday night.

Firefighters say they got the call just after 10, for a fire at a home on Edinburg Gap Road.

A spokesman for the fire departments says it is unknown if anyone was home at the time of the fire, but there weren't any cars parked nearby, indicting no one was home.

"When the first unit arrived on the scene, the entire house was in flames and the strategy was to keep the fire from spreading to the woods, burning in the leaves on the ground. We've got one unit that will stay here overnight making sure it doesn't flare up again, " said John Collins, the spokesman for Shenandoah County Fire and Rescue.

Fire and Rescue continue to investigate the cause.
