HARRISONBURG-- In connection with a pro-immigration reform rally on Capitol on Wednesday afternoon, local advocates will be marching downtown.
A rally starting at 6 p.m. will start in Court Square and then end at Rep. Bob Goodlatte's Harrisonburg office of Mason St.
Organizers believe about 150 will be there. One of them is Jossimar Diaz-Castro. He is a student at EMU, and is hoping a lot of people will show up tonight. His car has signs and stickers to draw attention to it.
With the rally, the group is hoping to encourage Rep. Goodlatte to vote yes on immigration reform with a path to citizenship.
"The time is now. One can feel it in the talk of the people of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. We have heard support from different organizations across races in our community," said Castro-Diaz.
