BRIDGEWATER, Va -– Thursday night was when Vice-Presidential Candidates Paul Ryan and current Vice-President Joe Biden were expected to debate.

Jim Josefson, a political science professor, said this debate is important because sometimes the vice-presidential candidates are more honest than the presidential candidates. He said you can learn more about what their running mates really want to do if they get elected.

Josefson said you should try to listen to their policies to really make an informed decision.

"What the American people need is to make a decision based on policy rather than who smiles and who scowls at these kinds of things. The problem is for most people, that's really, really, really hard," said Josefson.

Josefson said most people expect Ryan to perform better than Biden job in this debate.

He said if Biden surprises everyone and does really well, this could be a good turning point for the Obama campaign.
