Harrisonburg, Va. (WHSV) The Affordable Care Act kicks off at the beginning of the new year. When many Americans will start coverage under the new law. We checked in with an insurance agent in our area about what he is seeing with the deadline right around the corner.
Steve Flora, an insurance agent with Blue Ridge Insurance Services, said he is receiving a lot of phone calls from people trying to enroll under the Affordable Care Act.
Some plan on signing up for coverage starting on February 1, 2014.
Flora says with all the glitches this year, he thinks there will still be some work left to do in the new year.
"I think there will be some people that expect coverage, but maybe they haven't paid and so they won't they won't have coverage. So I think there will be a lot of more glitches to work through in the next month or two, couple of months really, probably the whole year of 2014," said Flora.
The deadline to pay for coverage starting on january first was recently pushed back to January 10, 2014.
