STAUNTON, Va. - Students from around the world came together at a local college teach others about different cultures at the International Festival at Mary Baldwin College.
The festival was put on by the college's Cosmos Club.
Attendees got to play games, watch performances, and eat snacks from different countries.
We spoke to people there who say events like this are very important to the community.
"I think people don't know a lot about the countries that other people are from and I think this is a way of showing that to the campus community and to the Staunton community at large," said organizer Virginia Pope.
"If someone knows another culture well they can communicate deeply and we can understand another culture," said exchange student Maika Miyahara.
So far, there's no word if they plan to continue the event next year.
