HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- One intersection in Harrisonburg is currently with out a traffic light after an accident.

A crash prompted Harrisonburg crews to take down a traffic light that was located on the intersection of Water and Liberty Street.

The light is still down because crews need to replace the pole that used to hold the traffic signals.

Instead of the traffic signal, two stop signs with flags on them now control traffic on Water Street.

Drivers on Liberty don't seem to notice the traffic lights are gone as they keep driving down the street.

Shawn Lackey who usually drives on Liberty Street every day did notice and said he doesn't think it would be a problem unless, "maybe wrecks because some people don't pay attention to stop signs. Someone can just be going straight and be in an accident."

The city expects to install the pole toward the end of this week.
