Interstate 81 Accidents Sends Two People to the Hospital

Augusta County Virginia State Police say two people were taken to Augusta Health, following a multi-car accident on Interstate 81 Sunday.

The accident happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 81at mile marker 219 in Staunton. Police say one car hit a deer crossing the road, which caused a chain reaction. In total, four cars were involved. Traffic was shutdown on the interstate for about one hour.

Billie Morgan and Brian Massie were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No charges were filed in the crash.
