JMU Students Create Mural to Remember Deceased Classmates

Some students at James Madison University are finding creative ways to remember fellow Dukes who died last fall and others in past semesters.

One of those is to create a mural on campus.

Kelly Johnson with the Student Government Association said students want to create something that everyone can look at.

The proposed mural would be on the wall inside of a tunnel leading students from the front of campus to the Forbes Center.

"We're trying to create something that everybody can come to and remember that we are and forever will be JMU strong. JMU united," said Johnson, "Everybody was hit pretty hard by what happened, the accident back in November, but to see an entire school come together was phenomenal."

Students still have to get approval for the mural and find an artist to sketch it.
