HARRISONBURG, Va -- It is the second annual 'Jazz for Justice' at the Forbes Center for Performing Arts. James Madison University students and faculty will perform at the concert this Saturday.
The money raised goes to promote diversity in the legal system. Plus, the jazz band's director says these shows really put JMU on the map.
"We want to be one of the satellites for the Jazz 4 Justice program," said Chuck Dotas, director of jazz studies. “Both for the important pro bono legal work it supports and and also for the scholarships it can give for the jazz students here."
The money will help Blue Ridge Legal Services and the Virginia Bar's diversity conference.
Tickets for the conert are $15. For tickets, visit www.jmu.edu/JMUarts or call the Forbes Center Box Office at 540 – 568 – 7000.
